Yun Sin Bogor (Sahabat)

A few weeks ago, we decided to just go south. Literally south. I once lived in Bogor and, while this place is already well-known, I just feel like sharing it to the others (and also for those who haven't tried it - give it a shot!)

The restaurant is called Yun Sin or Sahabat, just a few meters away from Kebun Raya Bogor, and conveniently located near the Bogor Palace. Can't really miss it, although getting there can be tricky (you literally have to go against traffic to park there - if there's a parking spot).

It's a very homey, no-frills place. The backside of the restaurant can get you a glimpse of a hill-view of the city. Service was rather quick. It's a nice start.

We have two portions of noodles and a full portion of the fried pork meatballs. 

The noodles are slightly oily and thick, and it already tastes so good you actually don't need to add anything else, except maybe some water from the soup if you like some soupy noodles. The brown chili sauce is already provided and it is home-made, giving it a very distinct taste. On the above picture, it is the one with the red cap.

The meatballs are perhaps the hero of the day. These little gems are very crunchy and have the perfect balance of meat and flour, not to mention the hint of sesame oil. We even ordered another portion for take away and eat at home for snacking purposes. While it's not something that I recommend to do everyday, once in a while you should give it a shot. 

If you don't eat pork, you can always order the fried chicken meatballs and they also taste absolutely amazing. There's always something for everyone.

I do realize that some people go to Bogor just to buy Roti Unyil, Macaroni, and such. Well, you can take all the macaroni and roti unyil and I'll have my noodles and meatballs.

P.S There is a cart who sells kue ape right in front of the premise and we bought 5 pieces. However, we forgot to take a picture of it as we couldn't wait to munch them all.. :(. Please get some as this guy has been around for more than 20 years.
